Web Stuff: Stayed up late learning more about CSS to be able to put two different link styles in one page.  See the menu to the right?  Now see the link style here in the blog?  Not a big deal to real web designers, but I learned a lot of stuff about <DIV> and CSS that's gonna be a lot of fun.

The Family Fiesta pictorial is current but I still have to upload more from the 4 year hiatus.  Watch for em!  Hey, here comes one now! Skiing!

Okay, almost 4 years since an update so let's just start from scratch and give you the current family bio.

Mike is still retired and stay-at-home-dad...ing.  Cindy's still working at Kaiser.  Loving the job, hating the drive.

Last year, Timmy (who's now wanting to be called: Tim), snuck into line with Mikey to get into kindergarten every morning.  Well no longer!  He's now officially in kindergarten and loving every second, even when Ella chases him... ...or especially when Ella chases him.

Mikey is in the first grade and is reading better than most adults.  Timmy has also started to read.  He seems poised for an exponential reading explosion just like Mikey was.  Both kids are in the soccer league.  Mikey is also on the Marin Pirates swim team and in Cub Scouts.  All daddy does is drive and launder uniforms.

We lost Bear in July. Tora and her people are still very sad.

Gonna do a new thing here. With the increase in high-speed access over the last 4 years, I'm going to upload lots more pictures. To save time, I'm not going to do thumbnails and special html pages for each picture, just load up all the full sized photos to single pages. If you still have dial-up, sorry bout that. You can access the pictorials on the right. The individual pages for each family member will still be there, but they won't be updated much.

Mikey is going to pre-school and having a great time.  He learns about a new animal every week.  Last week he treated us to a "crazy fox dance".   He's declared himself done with potty training.  He now tells us: "No, I do all by myself. You stay out there."

Timmy did his first real, walk-up-to-the-door, trick or treating.  Oh, did I mention he's walking all over the place?  Timmy wants to do everything Mikey does.  He hollers when we drop Mikey off at school.

Oh yeah, Cindy got a fancy new job at Kaiser Permanente. As a Senior Compensation Analyst she gets to tell the executives what they ought to be getting paid. (It's someone else's job to tell them why they're not.)

Just got back from Sacramento today.   We met up for the first time with "Born in July 2001" bulletin board buddies Julie and Dean and Hannah and Jack (Jack is the born in July guy).  We met at Fairytale Town.   See the pictures.

Since both boys are hanging out together all the time we're getting too many pictures that can't be classified into "Mikey" or "Timmy" albums. So we have a new album for the both of them. Keep checking their individual albums as those will be updated with their unique hijinx.

A little late in posting this.  This happens about once a decade:

Timmy's sitting up and crawling.  And eating like a bottomless pit!  Mikey is astounding his preschool teachers with his vocabulary. Today I asked him: "Did you poopy?", "no", "Tell the truth", "no", "Mikey, I smell poopy. Did you poopy", "yes", "Want to go change your diaper?", "NO! I like a play in steenky dipoo!"  Then we were looking at the humidifier and Mikey said: "Wow! fog machine, real fog.  Beautiful water!"

Timmy can say: Amma (for mommy) and Adda (for daddy).

Mikey has become a "Thomas the Tank Engine" fanatic.  So has daddy.  Timmy is recovering nicely from a scary bout with RSV, which included an overnight hospital visit.  Timmy (aka Mr. T) just had his 6 month doctor visit.  See the stats here.

So since the last entry, Mikey started a new preschool, more like a real school.  Cindy started a new job at McCutchen Doyle Brown and Enersen, big, fancy San Francisco Law firm.  And Timmy just keeps expanding, could be like dough, he might need to be punched down.

Mikey also had his birthday party in the little pool, with a homemade waterslide!

Timmy is one month old!  He had his 1 month pediatrician visit today.  He's big and healthy.  See Timmy's Page for details.

We're home!  We almost stayed longer because Cindy's incision popped open and her guts almost fell out.  She had a perfect epidural from the awesome Dr. Chamberlain.  Then Dr. Farney got delayed across the bay (should have kept Glasair, eh?) and Cindy had to wait with a lil tube in her spine until 2:08 to get Timmy out. 

I was all suited up for the OR and got to watch.  I didn't watch.  I stayed on the non-bloody side of the sheet and kept Cindy company.  But I did peek a little when the cutting was done and tugging and shoving started.  I got to see Timmy get yanked out and his cord get cut.  Then I was invited over to the baby wiping machine to cut off the excess cord: rubbery.  When I looked back over at Cindy, Dr. Farney was folding a piece of steak back into her.  Then I went to the ICN (intensive care nursery) with Timmy and Cindy went to recovery.  That was 5 days ago.  We've had 7 hours of sleep since then.

Timmy doesn't do much yet.  He can actually only perform the 6 basic human instincts we are all born with: Sucking, Sleeping, Pooping, Peeing, Watching TV, and Farting.  It'll be years before he can program the VCR.  He's already got a sense of humor, he always waits until you're almost done changing his diaper, then he pees all over the new, clean diaper.

Mikey made his first purchase today; from the world's smallest farmer's market.  This kid grew radishes all by himself and then daddy helped him set up shop.  Since it was right across the street from us we had to go browse his wares.

He just got over being sick a few days ago.  With all the congestion I think he learned a new word: boooh ga.

Lawn Mauler fixed.  Oil leak anyway.  Now I just need to sharpen my blade and affix a new air cleaner filter.  A little Scott's TurfBuilder II Plus Halts and LOOK OUT SPRING!

Cindy ordered a Fuji FinePix 2400 digital camera so watch for lots of "up to the second" photo updates in the near future.

Happy (late) Easter!
We had dinner at Grandma's house.  Mikey and Cousin Ryan played in the backyard.  Mikey picked flowers and Ryan played football.  Mikey learned to spin flowers with the stem between his finger and thumb.  He also covered himself in dirt from the lemon tree barrel.  Grandma has professionals take care of her yard but we DIY.  Yesterday I blew a gasket in my lawnmauler and speeooeed oil all over it.  But, Man! Does my backyard look nice!  I'm paying for it today, though.  Front and back lawns, hedges, edges, trimmer, scoop dog poo, sweep patios, scrub yard furniture!  I was not meant for manual labor.  What few muscles I have are screamin'.

Mikey's first day at school!!!

Just got back from Konocti Harbor Inn.  Had a good ol time.  Got some facial, some jacuzzi, and saw Chad Brock in the dinner theater.  Opening show was great too: the Honky Tonk Tailgate Party featuring Jeff Carson, Daryle Singletary and Rhett Akins.  The guys in the show toss guitar picks into the audience.  No we didn't catch one, but Jeff Carson zings one out into the crowd and instead of flipping end over end he gets a frisbee-like spin on the thing and nails a little girl in the second row right in the eye.  So she's crying and her mommy's checkin' out the eye and trying to comfort her and Jeff steps down off the stage and puts his arm around her and sings to her but she's crying too much and doesn't see who's there.  Then Jeff walks over and sings to some screaming fans at some other tables and over the volume of the music mommy and friends tell the girl that Jeff had been right there singing to her and her eyes popped wide open so Jeff comes back and gives her a big hug.  Eye o.k. now.
